Phase One of Athletics and Activities Participation Plan

Antelope Valley High School is excited to announce Phase One of our Athletics and Activities participation plan. Although the beginning date is July 13, actual starting dates will be determined by the coach or advisor. Please contact your coach or advisor for actual start dates. We appreciate your patience and understanding through this process, especially your understanding that these plans are subject to change as guidance and restrictions are constantly changing.

Phase One of Athletics & Activities is tentatively to begin July 13.

Summer athletics and activities will enter Phase One of a Three-Phase Return to Training plan beginning July 13 with voluntary returns to campus for a soft-opening focused on summer conditioning.

The following protocols are in place for Phase One:

All students, coaches and advisors will complete a health screening.

No gathering of more than 10 people at a time on any one field.

Workouts/ meetings conducted in “pods” of students with the same 5-10 students always working out/ meeting together

All activities to take place outdoors. Locker rooms will not be utilized.

There must be a minimum distance of six feet between each individual at all times

Students must bring their own water bottle(s)

Student athletes will need to complete their athletic clearances, including athletic physicals, before they will be allowed to participate in the Phase One summer conditioning programs. Students will receive information specific to their sport/activity from the school Athletic/Activity Department.

Summer School Counseling

Summer School Chromebook and Schedule Distribution

If you are in need of a Chromebook for Summer School, please come to the front parking lot next week on Wednesday, June 24th or Thursday, June 25th from 8AM-10AM. 

We will have printed summer school schedules for incoming freshmen. The schedule will have each student's account information for PowerSchool.

Physicals and Online Clearances for Sports 2020-2021

Lopes! 

As we move forward toward 2020-2021 students must be cleared to participate in sports. 

Dr. Massari is currently open and athletes can bring $20 and get a physical. When sports start again students must be cleared both online AND with the physical (the date of opening is unknown at this time, but will happen sometime between now and September most likely)...

Students can go to their primary physician with the form and also get cleared (during a wellness visit, etc.). 

The clearance process is two steps: 

A. The online clearance process: 
1. Go to https://athleticclearance.com/

2. Use your username and password from 19-20 (if not, they will have to retype everything in a new account). If new, follow the form below. 

3. Choose "Start Clearance Here" 

4. Important: Choose 2020-21 for "Year"

5. Choose Antelope Valley (CIF-SS) for "School"

6. Choose the first sport you are getting cleared for under "Sport" 

7. Follow Steps #1-#4 

8. Be sure to click on other sports if the athlete plays multiple sports. 

 

B. The physical clearance process: 

1. Bring a copy of the "blue card" to your physician (I will bring copies to Massari's office in the next couple of days):

2. Parent/student need to fill out the student information on the top of the form

3. Have the physician fill out the form in the middle section: sign and date. 

4. The parent needs to sign and complete the parent authorization section. 

* For football the insurance policy and parent initial MUST be signed on the parent authorization section.
